I have been pondering long and hard about what to do with you lovely folk when you come over here. So far, we have four confirmed guests: Yours truly, blog meet organiser extraordinaire RunDontWalk, my good buddy and recent addition to BCUK Berlinlights, and the woman who makes my working day just that little bit more giggly, the wonderful Support Team Manager nittygritty.
There are also likely to be more members of the blog.de team joining us.
So, here's the plan. We shall visit the blog HQ near the centre of Berlin in the afternoon of the 12th and meet the team. I shall also try to organise some sneaky beers and nibbles to be involved in this.
Then we shall perhaps move to a nice little bar somewhere nearby for a couple of nice frothy German beers.
We shall then head to dinner around 1900. I have finally decided upon the location. It will be a little-known Ethiopian restaurant that I happened to stumble upon about a year ago. The food is simple but tasty as hell, not to mention quite cheap - mains range from €6-€12.
The very special thing about this place is the way the food is served. All the orders are taken and then they come out all spread over several enormous slabs of injera bread, so we can all share and share alike. And there's no cutlery - you eat with your fingers! Vegetarians and germ-fearers fear not - this is optional and you can eat off a normal plate with cutlery if you want.
This restaurant is quite near a rather nice area full of interesting pubs (including several that serve Guinness) so from there we shall meander vaguely around in search of fun.
When no-one will give us more booze (which unfortunately will happen quite early on a Monday night), we can head back to the Hotel du Rampage (which will be stocked to the brim with vino and Bier) to feast intoxicatedly upon pancakes.
How does that sound?
So, to those of you who haven't yet booked, I hope that this will give you the required kick in the bum required to do so.
